BETA - Basic-ish Guides and Tips

Ruby Rose 7 years ago updated by MadPanCake (PanNiedzwiadek) 7 years ago 15

Well, with the beta of Wanderers.io out, I would want to share some info and tips onto the game (Note: Some elements of the game may be subject to change, or wrong)

PLAY THE GAME FIRST TO NOT BE SPOILED:

http://rezoner.net/wanderers/

I would not explain some elements of the game, as most of it is easy to figure out..

So far, you can't change the "class" of your people, so choose wisely in a strategic manner. Also, you can only have a total of 6 people in your tribe (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Axe (Lumberjacks) - An extremely important "class" in the game, as they are used to cut down trees and gain wood. You should have at least 1 or more in your tribe.

Bow (Archers) - An extremely important "class" in the game just like the lumberjacks, they are used to hunt and provide supportive fire. You should have at least 1-2 in your tribe. They are unable to use shields (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Hammer (Miners) - A great "class" and a must have. They mine stones to collect gold. Gold is used to buy supplies, or buy equipment. They are able to fight. You should have at most 1 in your tribe.

Scythe (Farmers) - A "class" that are able to cut grass to obtain stuff (Luck Based). Unlocking the scythe enables you to unlock farming, which is great for getting food by cutting grass. Getting the scythe also unlocks mycology, which makes all mushrooms edible. You should have at most 1 in your tribe.

Sword (Footmen) - An extremely important "class" in the game. They have faster attack speed, so they are great in defending or attacking other tribes. You should have at least 1-3 in your tribe.

Mushrooms are one of the important elements in this game, considering that one mushroom can ruin your whole game (Unless you have mycology)

Grey spotted mushrooms don't do anything so far:

Bright orange mushrooms don't do anything so far:

The negative affects on the mushrooms can be neutralized by getting mycology

Note: Things are subject to change

Please correct me if some things are wrong, and please share other info down if I missed some (IMPORTANT THINGS ONLY)

Bug/s (Or not): Tribe members randomly straying away, messed up aggro?, game freezes once in a while (e.g. Me taking screenshots)

Request for More Skill [Long Read]

S Joshi 7 years ago 0

Note: to make shorter the read for you, just focus on bold and realize that this post is just about making the game more skill-based. Italics is just emphasis for stuff I say. The rest is just to make the post more interesting to read.

I've recently been playing wanderers.io and I hear it's good! While the tutorial might seem a handful, it gives much detail on how to play, and easy to pick up when read once or twice. But as I started playing it, I realized that although being a tribe and hunting is real fun, I'm also wanting some skill too, so that things can get more intense in terms of competition, battles, and even resource gaining, the three main aspects I'm going to discuss here.

I'm going to put up general suggestions for each of the three aspects (there are more, of course, but they won't be discussed right now) I told above:

1. Competition: Tribes must be able to defend one's own tribe and resources, and compete with other tribes for important stuffs like power, protection, and accessibility to benefits. Develop methods to do this that are different from just outright battling someone to the death (which you can't even do half the time because they are super powerful! T_T)

2. Battles: This is where things get tricky. In the current system, melee fights melee to protect the rangers who pick off enemies, and the one with better battle power wins, and once a battle of equal armies starts, there's little one can do to become unstuck! Allow for tribes to utilize some sort of skillful battling system, if they want to, which is harder to play with but deals more damage. Some minions may not need to be skilled, but if a skill/no-skill mode is allowed, make the skilled damage greater than the unskilled, auto-attacking one. Furthermore, there should be flexible options in battling, and for different purposes.

3.  Resource gaining: Resource normally only belongs in a tidy little bag that sorts out how much of each you have, and killing any minion or animal yields a number of resources. Make resources more applicable to use for strategic purposes. This might include having tools to increase capabilities in storage, or production of essential materials or even in-game technologies. Resources should allow tribes to obtain benefits in both battles and competition, and needs to be more usable directly for those purposes.

Thanks for reading!

Idea: targets

ElderChargeDragon 7 years ago 0

Hello i love playing Wanderers.io, and as I played I noticed something that was pesky that could be easily fixed. I play on my laptop to constant moving is hard to do, and you need to move a lot for hunting as i have experienced as my archers/hunters would shoot a rabbit once the rabbit doesn't move or die and my archer just stops shooting. So i thought could you add a feature that allows you to click and prioritize something? Thank you for reading this and an even bigger thanks if you do add it! goodbye.

Planned

Comunication

Legion 7 years ago updated by wanderersiogame 7 years ago 4

I don't support idea of chat, i don't say its bad but it's time consuming and not really handy.

Truly great and used by many are emoticons, and picture comunication, so why do not add it in wonderers.io ? Many games came to the same coclusion and it works, it's uniwersal, and even shy or leazy people use them.

Some easy ideas:

  • Normal gesture of waving hand.   --  " Hi "
  • Hand and one of resources (wood, food, gold)   --  " Shere something "
  • Totem with arrow   --  " Follow "
  • Totem with sword   --  " Let's attack! "
  • Fireplace  --  " Buid campfire "

About how to use them ... I think clicking on someone totem should be enought easy.

Add buildings - multiplayer battles among villages

issa04 7 years ago updated by gaspard-vérin mathilde 7 years ago 3

Hi guys,

I though that it can be good if you become able to build things. So you can create a village. A build example can be towers that will defend your territory. Another way to defend your territory can be walls so enemies before attack the warriors have to break walls that can be enhanced.

It can also be nice to divide people between inhabitants (without weapons) and warriors.

A new build can be temples where inhabitans will pray to do powerful warriors.

A part of the warriors will be able to defend the territory, instead the others will go to explore or fight (before moving the totem you will have to select the warriors who will have to follow it).

In my opinion do villages can be very fun but you have to defend them with towers or walls because enemies can attack you at any time.

Thk for reading, issa04.

Wanderers mobile version?

issa04 7 years ago updated by Vepadaxide 3 years ago 14

Hey everyone,

I start playing wanderers and the game in my opinion looks very good.

I saw that the controls arent so complicate as wilds.io so i though about mobile version for this game to  make it famous faster.

Rez after that you finish the game is it possible to make a mobile version?

Thanks for reading, issa04.
