Meat glitch

So sometimes I will kill a animal, but then the minions won't pick up the meat, even when I move the totem right next to it...

Yeah, this isn't just with meat, but it happens mostly with meat. I think that the issue is that it never really was there in the first place. I have seen meat disappear and I have also seen meat not disappearing when my minion picks it up.
