OK, so I think I figured it out. I switched the internet connection from my home WIFI to my phones hotspot and I was able to play a full game for the first time.
What got me thinking was that I noticed that sometimes, while I type in the browser, there is a lag or delay from me pressing a key to it showing on screen.
I guess this game needs to have a constant connection, and any type of drop will cause you to crash. I play a bunch of games on my PC that never have done this, but they probably have some sort of safeguard for built in.
Luckily, I found I had a problem and can try to address it. I hope this helps future players.
